Myers Park High School Bands
The Myers Park Band Program is under the direction of C. Whit Blount, MPHS class of '96. Mr. Blount received a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of North Carolina in 2000 and continued his education there, earning a Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2001.

Band BOOSTER BOARD
- Carrie Baartmans - President
- Carrie is a MPHS Band veteran, with 2 sons, a Senior and a Sophomore, both in Marching Band and also in Jazz and Symphonic Bands, playing Trumpet and Tuba.
- Kim Lamphear -Vice President & Promotions
- Kim's daughter is Junior Drum Major in the Marching Band and also plays flute in Symphonic Band.
- Jill Gibson - Treasurer
- Jill has a son and a daughter in the Band program, 9th and 11th Grades, Trombone and Oboe players respectively.
- Chris Hamilton - Assistant Treasurer
- A relative newcomer to Charlotte, Chris' son plays tuba in the Marching Band.
- Janet Lyman - Recording Secretary
- Janet's daughter plays flute in both Marching Band and Wind Ensemble.
- Cathy McKee - Corresponding Secretary
- Cathy's son plays Mellophone in the Marching Band and Trombone in Jazz Band.
